When redeeming AmEx points, you can easily transfer to airlines like AirFrance, KLM, British Airways, Delta and more! I recently transferred 55,000 points to KLM for a business class seat from Austin to Madrid and paid less than $300 for taxes and fees!!!

There is an annual fee of $325 but you can see the benefits outweigh the fee! Especially if you use the AmEx Gold for grocery shopping and dining out.
